Terms of service

Last updated 6 September 2026. Fluxmon is in public alpha.

These terms govern your use of the Fluxmon service at fluxmon.com, which is run by JHB Holding AS, org. nr. 926 563 459. Fluxmon is also open source, and anybody can run their own copy — these terms cover the copy at fluxmon.com only.

By creating an account, calling the API, or installing the Fluxmon app into a Slack workspace, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Fluxmon.

Fluxmon is alpha software, and it is not a safety system.

It may lose your data, fail to deliver a missive, or stop existing. Nothing here carries a service level, a backup guarantee, or a retention period unless we have agreed one with you in writing. Never make it the only thing standing between a person and an emergency — see Not for emergencies.

What Fluxmon does

You describe a chain of destinations, each with its own ack window, and submit a missive with a deadline. Fluxmon tries each destination in turn until a person acknowledges the missive, refuses it, or the deadline passes and the missive fails. It then gives you a receipt describing what was attempted and how it ended.

Some destinations are delivered for real — webhooks, and email, Slack or Teams once you connect a backend. Others are simulated into the dashboard inbox and are never sent anywhere. Which is which may change during the alpha.

Alpha status

Fluxmon is offered for evaluation and early use. Features may change, behave inconsistently, or be removed without notice. The service may be interrupted, reset, or withdrawn entirely, with or without warning. Do not build a process on Fluxmon that you could not run without it.

Provided as-is

Fluxmon is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law permits, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Fluxmon will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free of defects, or that any missive will be delivered or acknowledged.

No service levels

We make no commitment to uptime, availability, latency, escalation timing, or successful delivery. No service level agreement applies, and none is implied by the way Fluxmon is described, documented, priced or demonstrated.

This is worth stating precisely, because Fluxmon is a product about guarantees. Escalating a missive and recording its outcome is what the software attempts. It is not a promise we make to you. A receipt is evidence of what Fluxmon tried and what happened — it is not a warranty of delivery, and a missive that failed, arrived late, or was never acknowledged gives rise to no claim against us.

No backup, and no guaranteed retention

We do not guarantee that your data is backed up, and we do not guarantee how long it is kept. Accounts, destinations, chains, missives, receipts and stored credentials may be deleted, truncated or lost at any time — through routine maintenance, a fault, a migration, or the end of the alpha.

Keep your own copy of anything you need to retain. No retention period, archival guarantee or export guarantee applies unless we have agreed one with you in writing.

Deletion on request

This is the one commitment we do make. On request we will delete your account and the data attached to it within a reasonable time, and in any event without undue delay. Write to support@fluxmon.com from the address you signed in with, or from one we can otherwise verify belongs to the account.

Deleting an account deletes its destinations, chains, templates, backends, Slack installation, missives and delivery records. Two limits are worth stating plainly: copies already written to operational logs or backup media go as those rotate or expire, rather than at the moment you ask; and we may keep the minimum required by law, or records needed to resolve a dispute already raised. The privacy page says more.

What we ask of you

  • Keep your API key and sign-in credentials secret. Activity through your key is treated as yours.
  • Only send missives to people who expect them. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to contact every recipient you configure as a destination.
  • Do not use Fluxmon to send unlawful, deceptive or harassing content, or unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent limits, or reach another account's data.
  • Make sure connecting a Slack workspace, a webhook or a mail server is within your authority to do.

Not for emergencies

Fluxmon must not be the only means by which anybody is alerted to an emergency, and must not be relied on where a missed or late message could lead to injury, death, environmental harm or serious loss.

It is not an emergency notification system, a medical device, a fire or intrusion alarm, an industrial safety control, or a substitute for any of them. If a message matters that much it needs a system that carries a guarantee, and during the alpha Fluxmon explicitly does not.

A written agreement overrides this page

Everything these terms disclaim — service levels, availability, retention, backup, export, support — can become a binding commitment, but only through a written agreement made by us that names the commitment specifically.

Statements in the documentation, on the front page, in a changelog, in chat or in email support are not such an agreement and do not vary these terms. Where a written agreement and this page conflict, the written agreement governs for that customer, as far as the conflict goes.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost business, or loss or corruption of data, nor for any loss arising from a missive that failed, was delayed, was duplicated, or was never acknowledged.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or the equivalent of NOK 1,000.

Nothing here excludes liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, for personal injury, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

Suspension and the end of the alpha

You may stop using Fluxmon and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that threatens the stability or security of the service, or where we are required to.

We may end the alpha, or discontinue Fluxmon, at any time. We will make a reasonable effort to give notice and a chance to export your data first, but during the alpha that is an intention rather than a guarantee. The sections on as-is, service levels, backup, emergencies, liability and governing law survive the end of your account.

Changes to these terms

The current version always lives at fluxmon.com/tos, with the date at the top. For a material change we will make a reasonable effort to give notice in the dashboard or by email. Continuing to use Fluxmon after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Norway. Disputes are subject to its courts, with Hordaland tingrett as the agreed venue in the first instance. If you use Fluxmon as a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law where you live.
